Promotion Coordinator / WDCW-TV, Tribune Broadcasting (2014-32444)

The Promotion Coordinator will be responsible for various administrative duties as well as the daily management of promotion-related trafficking responsibilities.  This person will report to and work with Production Director in developing and coordinating all aspects of station on-site events (promotion, community service and / or sales-related) which also will include the follow-up postings of information / photographs / video on WDCW-TV’s various social media platforms.

The position includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Administrative support for the production & creative services departments.
  • Promotion & PSA On-Base numbers management.  Daily input of promos, snipes, squeezes.
  • Coordinating station’s targeted on-sight events:  including staffing, material & supplies coordination, billing & budgeting, and more.  Social media follow-up.
  • Social media postings – daily programming, specials, sales-related projects, and more.
  • Will be called upon to work and participate at station on-site events.
  • Oversee the station’s routine contesting which includes filing of approved legal rules, the distribution of prizes and reporting to accounting
  • Final Cut Pro editing of video of station’s events & for syndicated programming.
  • Assist in the oversight of station’s website in making certain dated material is deleted and updated information is posted correctly & easy for consumers to find.
  • General public relations work.  Writing press releases, flyers, brochures.

Applicants should have at least 1-3 years of administrative experience with professional background in the television industry preferred.  Strong organizational & writing skills.  Experience with Word Press, Photoshop, Powerpoint and Final Cut Pro preferred.  Knowledge of all platforms related to social media marketing & a genuine drive to build WDCW-TV’s presence in this arena.   Must be a positive representative of DC50 & Tribune Broadcasting while on assignment throughout the DC metro community.  Ability to move quickly with high energy, punctuality, self-sufficiency, resourcefulness and challenges themselves technically and creatively highly desired.

Must absolutely be flexible with alternative working hours and already be very familiar with the Washington, DC market.

Videographer / Producer   WDCW-TV, Tribune Broadcasting (2014-32443)

The Videographer / producer must possess a high proficiency of knowledge in the area of broadcast production, specifically in local promotion, programming, sales promotion, and local public service efforts. The position includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • In-studio and field videography (Sony Ex3 HD Cam), final cut editing of promotional and  programming material.
  • Assist local promotion & program producers in feature package production.
  • Various productions of promotion and sales efforts.
  • Social media follow-up with virtually all productions
  • Will be called upon to work and participate at station on-site events.

Applicants should have at least 1-3 years of professional experience in the television industry with previous broadcast production experience.  Very strong videography, lighting and audio skills are required.   Must be thoroughly versed and proficient in Final Cut Pro.   Production includes posting and sharing of material on DC50’s various social media platforms.  Experience with Word Press preferred.  The ability to be open to improving skills and taking critiques in a positive manner is desired.  Strong writing abilities required.  Must be a positive representative of DC50 & Tribune Broadcasting while on assignment throughout the DC metro community.  Ability to move quickly with high energy, punctuality, self-sufficiency, resourcefulness and challenges themselves technically and creatively highly desired.

Must absolutely be flexible with alternative working hours and must have reliable transportation and already be very familiar with the Washington, DC market.

Account Executive WDCW-TV, Tribune Broadcasting (2013-26794)

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to: Generating local revenue, ensuring all financial goals are being exceeded, while developing and maintaining relationships with agencies and clients

  • Ability to develop and maintain direct relationships with agencies and clients to promote station image and perception
  • Identify needs of advertisers and prepare custom sales presentations
  • Consult with sales management on opportunities and specific needs of clients
  • Develop and create new programs to maximize revenue from existing clients
  • Constantly develop new business revenue streams
  • Maintain a customer friendly attitude and dedication to customer needs

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree, 1-3 years selling experience, preferably in television or other media.
